Constipation


A condition that refers to not only infrequent bowel movements, but includes straining, incomplete evacuation, as well as need for enemas and laxatives on a regular basis to maintain regularity. There are many causes for constipation, including inadequate fiber intake or fluid intake, as well as narrowing of the colon, neurologic disorders, endocrine disorders, medications, and pregnancy.
